Kala is so funny. He really picks up on the things we do. He always has to stand EXACTLY how Kaulana is standing for one. Yesterday Kaulana had one foot on the rocks and the other on the side walk with his foot turned and his hand on his hip. Better believe Kalamaku had to stand EXACTLY the same way.
We have tried so hard to teach Kala the shaka sign. He just couldn't quite get his fingers to work so it never really stuck. While Kaulana's dad was in town for Benson's blessing he and Kaulana tried again to teach him. And what do you know IT STUCK! He walked over to the stairs a while later and out of no where just threw it up as if he was saying aloha! bye!
Well Kala has been quite a stink about eating his lunch this week. He loves to distract you and try to get you to think about other things... that is anything other than him having to take a bite of his lunch! So one day he decided to throw up the shaka sign again to distract me by oohing and awhing over his great work. Nice try buddy... didn't work! I know how you think kiddo, and that sweet face doesn't play tricks on this one, but it sure gives me a smile in such frustrating moments!! He thinks he is quite funny too with his distractions. He even gets his eye brows going to get me excited about something... anything other than his lunch. Oh how I love my creative, very stubborn two year old!
